hi all i got an hp pavilion dv4000 and i had to do a fresh install of xp and now i can't get the dedicated buttons to work? the buttons was for the dvd software and music all i got now is a dvd button and a music button that do nothing can any one tell me how to get them working again? thanks

how did you reinstall xp, off recovery partition, recovery cd or xp cd? any exclamation marks in device manager?

hi ddp. i had the laptop from a m8 it was a bit run down so i did an new install from a windows xp home edition disc i had with my desktop pc. i no the laptop had dvd software on it that my desktop never but the laptop was runing xp home edition anyway. but befor i did the new install if i hit the dvd button on the laptop the dvd software would boot up and what not. dont no if i need a recovery cd from hp but thay want 31 pound for it. ps no exclamation marks in device manager. thanks for the help

hi ddp. on my laptop it just got DV4000 but on the back there was a sticker and it had this dv4232EA on it i put that in the web link you put up and this is the laptop HP Pavilion dv4232EA that came up. thanks for the help
