OK, ready to buy my mobo, CPU & memory for my new build. Going to buy it together to make sure it posts as to not miss the return window. I'm 99% going with this board: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155. Looking at the Asus website there is only one type of one brand of memory on the QVL list. I know other RAM will work. Anyone have this board and what did you use?

Purchase accordingly (read reviews to get a general idea).

This isn't correct anyway

Thanks Ripper. I thought it may be wrong. Micro***ter used to have a room where you could post a board, CPU, of RAM before you left the store. Not sure if they still do. Theyre offering a $50 discount night now on certian mobs if you buy the CPU too.

FWIW, I wouldn't go higher than 1600MHz.

I'm in the UK so not sure what shop you're referring to!

This is what I thought I'd like to try :
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GXM

Not sure if I'd be better off with 2 8gb or 4 4gb sticks?

You'd be better off with 2 8GB sticks simply because you can upgrade more cost effectively at a later date.
