every time i connect a usb dvd drive to a netbook i get error saying
the usb mass storage device has exceeded the power limits
and stops working its fine on my laptop any help the netbook is xp thanks

look at the usb port you are plugging into to see if any pins are bent. 2.5" or 3.5" external hd? 1 or 2 usb connectors from external hd to netbook?
