In general, the bigger the aerial the better. Also remember that Wireless N, while the fastest, has a terrible range - G is much better.

the dual band 3300 seems the best of the net gear stuff I can find under 80$, if N fails G will kick in so its all good as far as range/speed goes...and don;t tell me other wise I spent 20$ for a daul band USB adapter getting the router next :P

Oh BTW how you been man?!?! ^^

It's not just the signal though, N band routers tend to be worse overall than G ones.

Not so bad thanks, yourself? :)

There's conflicting opinion on that, but it's fact that the WRT54GL (Linux) routers are rock solid, and also fact that the WRT54G (VxWorks) routers are absolute <expletives>

The WRT54G v5 (VXworks) is much better under DD-WRT than stock firmware, though if used for torrenting the internet connection can still crawl under DD-WRT as the WRT54G v5 isn't the best model. QOS can be used to overcome this though. There are indeed better Linksys models, some of which are in my signature.

In answer to the OP's question, have only ever used one Netgear router, it was an (unreliable) G router, can't remember the model, so i stopped using Netgear thus don't know much about them.

Yeah my DG814 was useless even for browsing, but they're not all like it.
