I want to back my laptop hdd up on my desktop through the network. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to do that. Laptop Windows XP and desktop Windows 7 Pro.

Easiest way I can think of is to set up a shared folder on desktop; map the network drive on laptop; use a backup program like Acronis to save data to mapped folder.
Possible issues with one machine being XP and the other win7 and the fact that your desktop must be on at the time your laptop sends data.
