Hey all,

Didnt know where to put this. I recently bought a 2tb internal that i put in an enclosure. I was able to put everything on and and view it from my pc. However, when i share it to my network...my laptop can not access it. It says access denied. It talks about a password and everything... I didnt set it up with a password. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ryan

did you enable sharing of the external when connected to your desktop so the laptop can access it?

I have 2x1TB externals that I did everything the same with...the only thing that I can remember that is different is that when i formatted this 2TB hard drive... I set it up NFTS or something like that... and the other ones are formatted a different way...

Vista does not like to share without passwords. Best to set it up with a user name and password...and the user name should be a user account on the PC with administrator level access. If you think this is a potential security problem, you are right...but that is what you get when you deal with Windows.
