Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out a little bit here.
So I don't know much about computers but I recently bought a PC and its pretty decent, except I noticed that sometimes it doesn't run exactly the way I want to when I'm playing videogames so I went out bought a Radeon HD5770 video card, and bumped it up from 2 gigs of ram to 4, little to my knowledge my motherboard stops at like 3.23gigs of ram, my brother explained it to me, so I'm not sure if I should just upgrade my motherboard but if I do that apparently I may have to change my processor to fit the new motherboard, and possibly new ram, now I didnt build this pc I bought it used off a guy, he says that it has a intel D 3.00 ghz, which I assume is a intel dual core with 3.00 ghz, how would I find out what kind of mother board I have is there some sort of program? and would there be any worthy processors that would be compatible in it as well.
the motherboard reads 4gigs of ram but your windows is reading 3.23gigs of ram as your windows is the 32bit version not the 64bit version. the pentium D 3ghz is a single core cpu not a dual core. in white printing on the motherboard will read the make & model# of the motherboard such as asrock p4i65g or something like that.
ahhh makes sense yes i am running 32bit windows, thanks for the input and i'll get around to find out my make and model thanks for the heads up! appreciate it!
