The days of machine code programming many a wet winters night - Halcyon days!

Now all we have is bloatware 5 generation so called programming languages - pah humbug.

Surely underclocking your overclock would bring you back to no-overclock or underclock?

Personally i prefer my grandfather clock but thats just my preference!

Ah yes, but if the laptop is overheating wouldn't the underclock be better for it?? Grandfather clock: Pretty sure thats my sisters laptop because it is so slow! :P

I doubt underclocking would do any good you would have to lower the voltage to get much of a noticeable heat reduction.

He could have an appliation hogging the cpu like setiteam used to do - it was designed to use 100% cpu.

Doubt he has looked at the cpu util though!
Probably a virus!
lol

Some folks do under clock their PC's
To much speed? No they think the PS and all components will last longer.
With that mindset, I'm sure they have an IBM XT with a five meg full height MFM hard drive.
which cost ~3k in the day..

I paid $55.00 a meg for Static column RAM when upgrading my old Amiga 3000.

I have 12 gigs of DDR3 in my current configuration.
Do the math

Not really a gamer except for auto racing proggies. Used to race my real Mustang Cobra open tracking. Sold it, now my need for speed is computer controlled.

i7 920 @3.44GHz on a daily basis. Gigabyte EX58 Extreme, NVidia 295GTX. Old but still very powerful.

Underclocking allows for lower voltages. Lower voltages allow for longer battery life. In the case of a basic laptop used for simple things like spreadsheets and email, this can be a great advantage when the slowest processors are far more than needed. Realistically, underclocking is far more appropriate for a laptop like LightXxX has than overclocking...assuming it supported either, that is.

i already did.. I popped open the thing and i got a laptop Cooler for it... The map of heat is 145*F... I want to overclock by a little bit like to 2.60GHz which it should be around 160F* I have a Intel Pentium T4500 2300MHz and MAX reaches 4096MHz and i just want it to be at 2600MHz... Im palying CS:S and BlackOps and i want it to be able to run without lags on the laptop... I disabled Paging Files and Closed all programs but still barely handling it with medium lags i also did a Clean Install and did these thing too... Is it even Possible or Impossible with anything or by force to overclock? If it's not possible than just say "It's impossible" and if it's possible jsut say "Do this and Do that!" It's what i want to know... I got the Cooling under control...

Excuse me but what exactly what do you mean by "I popped open the thing and i got a laptop Cooler for it..."? Don't laptops just sit on these types of coolers? I use one that plugs into a usb port and has three fans in it. I can't say it helps or not, but it has never overheated.

The guy needs a desktop. Locked up tight so he can't lay his fingers on.

The chameleon of threads.
Mean what you say, say what you mean.

It's more than obvious he has pirated software and is unwilling to to give up after spending zero dollars for software.

There is a reason they lock/dont include those BIOS settings and its to keep someone from doing something monumentally silly like this and try to return for refund a burned-up machine.
This guy made a water cooling kit for a laptop, LOL !

Wow I had one of those and just sold it for £100.
Old Hp NX115 if I remember rightly with excellent pair of JBL speakers!

I would like to see him try it on a new £1400 Sony Vaio - Aye right!

Surprised this thread is still going!
Perhaps his ban has made him see sense and he has bought an Abacus instead!

I cannot believe it building another and more overclocking questions.
What is the worst is he is wasting so much time of the members on here with such
fatuous nonsense of which he pays scant attention anyway!

Overclocking is a specialist area - He should leave it alone as the only specialism he has in FUBAR anything he touches!
