hi all, i am having probs with the front mic boost been on full and causing whistling in the speakers. when i right click the realtek Hd audio manager and bring up audio devices>sound then click recording box it brings me to front mic i double click that then click the levels box,i then have the front mic and mic boost on screen and the mic boost is on full, if i drop it the whistling stops, but i am not getting the apply box lighting up to save it, just the ok box, so every time i switch speakers on i have to go through the same routine. any help appreciated.
interesting mine doesn't apply either but it does stay where i put it so maybe just clicking ok will do

are your drivers recent? if not go to realteks site and download from them FTP(transfer is slower than a Slug, so grab a ham sandwich or something.) there was an issue like this posted about a year ago, and realtek corrected the problem in the driver.
edit:the WDDM driver possess this same issue Microsoft has not updated it.
