Hi can anyone recommend a half decent printer that has cheap enough ink and can print on DVD's
Also does anyone know if its possible to either tip-ex or spray over anything I might have already wrote on it?

What is "cheap enough"? You can buy clone carts for Epson or install a CISS. I use an Epson R280 and an Epson RX585.
As a protective coating or a re-write. Protective coating, maybe. Re-write? NO WAY.

By cheap enough, I mean not daft HP or Lexmark prices (£30 for colour & £25 for B&W)
When I say to spray over or tip-ex, I mean I've written on the top of the DVD with a CD pen the name of the game. Can I use white spray paint to spray over so I can then print on to the top of the DVD?

Probably not. It'd most likely look hideous.
As far as "spray paint", I'm not aware of anything that would be safe.
If you have discs like that, you're probably better off with full face paper labeling over them.
Beware if you intend to use them in a slot loading drive. Slot loading drives DO NOT LIKE discs with paper labels.

Was wondering about that, I have done this in the past and it makes the DVD more heavy which causes it to skip.
What in actually wanting is all of my Xbox 360 games with the proper printed look instead of my crappy handwriting. They are all printed on white label DVD's and my writing is only on a small area. Ill try one with a tiny bit of white spray paint and let peeps know how I get on.

the skipping is caused by the label shrinking & expanding causing the disk to warp.

Why dont you copy those games before you go messing about? If they are already Quote:
on white label DVD's
it isnt too hard or expensive. Blank DVD's arent that costly if you are worried about the looks re-painting the disc just start with a shiny new disc...

because hopefully they are are dual layer verbs, if not then they are on some other brand of a dual layer, that can be kind of costly.

Re: spray painting. I would not even consider this.
1. If you spray paint over only the affected area, you will most likely make the disc "out of balance".
2. I would be concerned about any chemical reaction between any kind of paint and the writable surface of the disc.
I would just leave it as is, and if you decide to print over your writing, try to position the writing UNDER the darkest part of the printed label and it might cover it up enough.
In the future (or interim), you may consider writing with a fine tipped "sharpie" on the clear part of the hub.

Yes hopefully they are DL verbs, theres really no reason to use anything else with all the failure rates of other brands...Yes DL discs are a few pennies more...I guess what I was trying to say, without sounding judgmental or like someones parent, is you can just do it right the first time (sounds like OP wants to if hes worried about a good disc printer) or can keep trying to just make do.
The disc will not look very good after the spray paint, i mean printable discs have a special surface to help the ink adhere, I do not think printing atop spraypaint is similar to the disc surface.
