Hi there everyone, im sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place i wasnt sure where to post.

anyway, my computer decided to eat itself, so i reinstalled windows and all works perfect except i have no sound.

i have downloaded many drivers for my computer and so far no luck! :(

My computer is a Compaq Presario sr1705uk (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF10a/12454-12454-3329737-89304-89304-1814722.html?jumpid=oc_R1002_UKENC-001_Compaq%20Presario%20SR1705UK%20Desktop%20PC&lang=en&cc=uk)

Hi Smartyp,

1, Have you downloaded the driver from HP website
2, Have you tried Windows update (hardware updates)
3, Does device Manager show a problem

1, that was the first thing i did, and no luck :(
2, not a legit copy, i lost my original disc so dotn want to update and things yet unless neccessary
3, it shows up with the yellow ? thingy

S/R No is a number that is located on a sticker somewhere on the back of the comp.

it looks like you may have to uninstall curreny driver.

Install this

Then install this
