sound problems pls help

hello in the last few days when i turn on my pc in 5 minutes or so
a crackling sound comes out of my speakers, and the volume bar in the tray icon freezes, then
in about 5 mins the sound goes off, and i will have to restart my pc again to make it work
i don't know what is this problem is it from the sound card driver, windows 7, or something else
any help pls?
even web sites like youtube comes to a non responding act

Check the Drivers 1st. Or it could be the hardware itself.

i dont know exactly because i bought this pc second hand
maybe is it the software because the volume bar freezes

go to device manager to check your drivers. You also might wanna check your speakers too make sure their not blown, cause blown speakers will tend to pop and crack like that.Originally posted by ganni666: thanks for the reply

the speakers are ok because once i used my headphones and the same crackling sound came.
so this is my motherboard
asus crosshair 3
and this has also its sondcard which is supremefx x-fi
now when i go to device manager and into sounds
2 lines drops down i don't know which one is the soundcard driver
the first one is AMD high defeniton audio device
and the second is soundMAX integrated digital hd audio

it appears you do not have a pci soundcard according to this link.

i have that sound card the supreme fx the speakers are plugged in it
and the driver is the soundMAX integrated digital hd audio
now when i go to playback theres this icon with a monitor showing, and it says
AMD hd sound device not plugged in when i right click on it and go in properties
it seems that its enable, should i disable it, maybe thats the problem?
