I have a dell STUDIO 1737:
INTEL CORE 2 DUO T5800 @ 2.00 GHz
MEMORY: 3072MB (1X2048 + 1X1024) 800MHZ
Seagate HARD DRIVE 320GB SATA (5400RPM)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
My laptop began running very slow and eventually completely crashed.
I tried to reboot from the original vista cd and do a computer repair but I got no joy.
So I did a format and reinstalled Vista and it seemed to work ok, until I started to reinstall the drivers, it crashed again. I was getting a blue screen and error message saying data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status 0xc0000c
So I figure that the hard drive was dead, so I bought a new Seagate ST9320325AS 320GB SATA300 2.5? hard drive and install it myself,
When I installed it I had the Sate controllers in the BIOS set to AHCI
After reinstalling all the drivers ? everything was working fine again
But I noticed the fan was running on full and making a lot noise
Also while I was downloading the drivers ? A download which previously had only taken minutes was now taking 1 hour
I thought the problem might be the fan so I downloaded speedfan to check the fan
When I ran it, I got the blue screen saying dumping memory
It started up fine again and I ran Dell 32 DIAGNOSTICS program and everything
Passed the tests fine Memory, Fan, hard drive, no problems was found. I ran the FAN test a few times it checked different RPMs and everything came back fine
But the laptop is still running alot slower than previously had done, downloads take ages and the fan is constantly on
Any help would be much appreciated, as I cannot afford to pay anyone to fix it for me
Sorry for this being so long ? It?s doing my head in
