hi, im looking forward to upgrade my motherboard with a new cpu, ram and graphics. its a ms-6786. i have been wondering what sort of capacity the board will support in these parts. is there any program which could tell me that? for instance i only now it will only accept ddr1 module up to 333mhz.

what type of graphic card i could put in it, what module and what size. the manual says that the cpu support is at 2000mhz and more so will this guy work?: AMD Athlon II X2 250 BOX( AM3) (65W,45NM) and by the way what socket does the board has am2+, am3?

CPU Support
Socket -A (Socket 462) for AMD PGA Athlon processor at 2000MHz + and more.
133/166 & 200*MHz Host bus speed (uses dual clocking to obtain 266, 333 & 400*MHz FSB). with KM400A
It's socket A with SDRAM and an AGP video slot.
You can't upgrade the CPU much beyond what you have. No, you can't put an ATHLON II in it. You might be able to put a single core FX in it, but no X2s whatsoever.
Time for a new PC.
BTW, ddp gave you a link with all of the specs. Did you even bother to try to read it?

ok so tell me folks what sort of cpu is the best i can put in that board, and also tell me the same story with the graphics. i would like you to tell me direct names of the products if you would.

better off replacing those parts with new parts. did an upgrade for a customer replacing her motherboard with onboard video, socket 478 cpu(p4-2.8ghz) & ram(256meg ddr) with a socket 775 motherboard with onboard video, intel dual core 2.5ghz cpu & 2-1gig ddr2 ram including tax just under $200Can. was able to use her drives & case but had to reload windows.

I agree with ddp. You should forklift the entire mobo, cpu, and video card.
Upgrading to mthe best parts possible in that system wouldn't even be extending the life of the system because the best parts that could go into that system are far out of date.
However, just to humor you, the fastest processor you could run is an Athlon XP3200+, and the best video card would be an AGP 8X (anything).
IMHO, spending money on upgrading this mobo is "throwing money down a smoking hole".
