i apologise in advance if this is in wrong forum thread.
the problem is my sons pc has just started running very slow and i think it could be wireless router. i have done all virus+spy+malware scans in normal running and safe mode and came back clean. he has not got a lot of stuff on it so its not clogged with too much stuff. the pc is about 4 yr old its a dell dimension E520 the running slow has just started happening. the router is a netgear WGT 624 wich is about 3 yr old and been bashed about and dropped a few times. the signal is showing a max of %87 and mostly less. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the usb adaptor and the main router software to no avail.
so any help would be appreciated, if people think it is the router is there any others that are better than netgear.
ps: forgot to add the distance between the pc's is approx 6 feet and one wall, but there hasn't been probs before.

For your information i did read the post.....it read that you had concerns about the router....doing a speed test as proved it to be ok...so now out of the mix
I only inquired as to why any one would want to use Wifi when only 6ft from the router whether it be the second pc or the 10th it matters not
have you heard of a Ethernet Switch ??
A great attitude for some one looking for help
BYE BYE
