Hi guys. I got a bit of a unique problem. A few years ago, I went and got my V9PS2 modded by modchipstore.com with a DMS4 S.E. Lite chip. When I first got it, it worked brilliantly. All my import PS2 and PS1 games worked flawlessly. My import games are Onimusha 2 for the PS2, and Metal Gear Solid(original Japanese release), and Metal Gear Solid Integral for the PS1.
I stopped playing with it for a couple of years, moved a few times since then, and just a couple weeks ago finally broke it back out because I recently bought Ryu ga Gotaku(released stateside as Yakuza). It would get me to the memory card loading screen, and then after that, would just give me a solid black screen. I tested Onimusha 2 on it again, and it wouldn't so much as load at all! Oddly enough, all my PS1 games, both foreign and domestic, still worked, as well as all my domestic PS2 games. Just the import PS2 games wouldn't work for me anymore.
I fiddled around with the settings for hours, trying to see whether I flipped to something weird or whatever some time ago, but nothing made a difference. And I was so puzzled considering that it all worked flawlessly before.
So what I ended up doing is trying to go back to a previous version of the ToxicBIOS or the factory shipped one. Because I was thinking the chip must have gone bad somehow, and maybe a fresh install might do the trick. And eventually enough playing around with that got me a solid red screen from then on. I think I may have corrupted the bios on my chip. Is there a way to reinstall the software on it, or is my system a lost cause? Does anyone have any insight as to what my problem was in the first place? Why did my import PS2 games all of sudden not work on my system?
