I use 16x blank DVDs and burn with DVD Decrypter.

Obviously I burn at 8x with the 16x dvd+r but when it is actually burning, the burn speed averages out at an actual 5.0x-6.5x while burning.

Should I up the MAX write speed to 10x or 12x so the burner actually runs at an average 8x or just let it go?

Don't want to make a coaster so I am asking...for now I'm burning with MAX set to 8x and they work fine, but seem to be loading slightly slower than originals.

THANKS :)

I burn all my PS2 games at 4x , even when I use 16x discs.

They all load fine. I burn on Sony DVD-R

Every game I have ever burned still works great.

It basically depends upon the media you burn on, your burner and your PS2 Version.

Sometimes it may require making a few coasters to get the right speed.

Do you have the Booktype set to DVD-ROM. That is the setting you need when burning DVD+r.
