Can I use my memory card after Installing FMCB?

Hello. I'm reading up on some FMCB tuts and they say that its reccomended to to install fmcb on memory cards with saves. Can I save saves to the memory card AFTER fmcb is installed?

Yes you can use your memory card to save games on after fmcb 1.8 is installed.

I use uLe to back them up first to a USB drive, then install fmcb, and then you can just copy the saves back.
