I have just bought an official game, it wouldn?t load on my ps2, so I took it back to the shop and get a replacement and it still wouldn?t load. It might be as my ps2 as it is donkeys years old (it can no longer can play movies or music). So I was wondering would I be able to get this official game working using the swap magic discs? The second option is to make a copy of this disc (or download it) and run it using the swap magic disc?
Also with my ps2 not being able to play movies would it still be able to cope with backups do you think? I use to use swap magic but this was a long time ago. Any other help to get the disc running would help.
I would assume that it's time for a new ps2 mate, but I would try the swamp magic first (it could be a cheap fix) and if that doesn't work then get a-hold of another ps2 and try it. If your other games are working on it, I would keep it for a back up anyway, but you gotta remember these things are around 8 years old now, they don't make anything nowadays that last for any period of time no matter how well you've taken care of it.
Anyway, like I said, I would try the swap magic disc 1st, and if you end up having to buy a new system, you've got a swap disc already to start off playing your back ups.
Thanks, It turns out that my ps2 just needed a dam good clean on the inside. For the first time in years it now plays DVD's and Ps1 games :D. The game still wont loads that great. Its guitar hero and i have heard alot of people are having the same problems. Its taking about 5 mins to load a song. I have the swap magic to try anyways to see if that improves.
Does it only work with DVD-R's? As i have just got dvd+R...
Hey thats good to hear!
Swap magic will play DVD+R as well, I know it for a fact, as I've got several of those. I don't know anything about guitar hero though, sorry about that.
