Hello, I have been backing up my collection of ps2 titles and there are several that when I go to load them there is a diagonal bar that goes up and down the screen constantly as if there were a problem with the video connection. It only happens with certain games and I am curious as to whether or not this could be caused by me setting the disc speeds to to high of a level. Any input would be reatly appreciated as I am fairly new to this process. By the way I have seen many people say that dvd-r rw dvds cannot be used for ps2 backup and will not play on the ps2. I have a slim v12 77001b ps2 and it plays without a problem games burned on a verbatim dvd-r rw disc. I have tested several of these with this type of disc as I already had several and they work flawlessly except for obviously the few that have the odd screen annoyance. The games that have given me this problem are dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi 3 and worms 4 mayhem for the ps2.

It is not soo much that your PS2 can't read DVD -RW, not all PS2's can.

But that they are very hard on your laser. They will weaken it. If you must use them, only use them as a test.

You are best too use Verbatim DVD-R discs.

ahhhhh, ok thank you. I was told that they just dont work and so started using them when I tried the first one and it worked. I am going to buy a few spindles of dvd-r then and start backing up with these instead.
