hey all i have soft modded my ps2 and have had no problems playing backed up disks, when i burned dark cloud recently i patched the iso and burned no problem, but now when i load the game i get sound and the video its just that the screen keeps moving really fast upwards. i have tried restarting it and reburned the game, does anyone know why this is happening? every other back up still runs no problems.

You have a game that is the wrong region. If you have a PAL system NTSC games will do that and vice versa. There are patchers for it. Google yfix.

Somewhere on your ps2 there is a sticker. It will tell you if you have a PAL or NTSC system. If you are in the US your system is most likely NTSC if in Europe it is most likely PAL. Your game is the opposite of which ever your system is.

And is it possible to play PAL games on a NTSC PS2 by modifying your
PS2 or rearranging the red, white, and yellow cable wires???

Yes you can play PAL on your NTSC. I don't know of any cable modding thing. I have a NTSC and have few PAL games on it that work. You just have to patch them with yfix. If you are still talking about Dark Cloud, the one that I have is PAL too and works. It has been a while since I did the ps2 mod, but I remember that that was the game that I learned about yfix with.

patch the game while its on the DVD without buying a new on

Nope. But if you don't have the iso anymore, you can make one from your burned disk. Then burn it to another disk.
