Swap Magic 3.6 DVD Not Working

Whenever I insert the Swap Magic disc and start my PS2 I get an error saying; "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc" or "The disc could not be read".

did you try to pirate the swap disc? or is it an original

The problem is the game. Either you didn't burn it correctly (though you probably did) or you burnt the game on an incompatible disk. The same thing happened to me when I burnt my games on a DVD-RW disk. After I switched to using DVD-R disks, the ps2 could finally recognize it with the swap magic. I think DVD+R works too. Find out what other types of disks are compatible if you don't have any +R/-R disks. I don't know what type of disks you use but my guess is you used -RW. Try either -R or +R and I'm almost sure your problem will be solved.

i agree its why i asked if it was a copy or not. i had the same problems with + vs _ discs also if the disc is left open or if it is closed. backing up a swap disc is tricky and the ps2 is fussy with them

but you are saying its an original disc, so this changes things. i would put it in your computer and verify it has info on the disc and is readable with a pc. atleast it is a place to start.

I have a ps2 slim and had the same issue with swap magic. Turned out that my dvd of swap magic requires me to press down on it a little a bit more so that it "snaps" into place. otherwise i also get that error you're seeing. don't press it too hard (if u try this), i'd hate for you to break something. :)

Thanks everyone.
The problem was as nsf4848 said. I had to push harder for the disc to actually snap in than I have to with my other discs.
