Hey Guys I really need help playing games on my ps2 through usb hdd

i have everything ready except for usb advance it freezes right after the playstation logo appears

here's wat i did

downloaded usb advance img , used apache3 to create filelist and extract the contents of iso , used scanlite to patch the cd to dvd , renamed the .elf to slus123.45 , made a 2 gb dummy , added the files to cd/dvd gen in order as in the filelist , got files as .000 .001 .002 etc. , used the cmd to create iso and then dvd decryptor to burn the dvd iso

plz help...

By what method are you booting this DVD you created?

If your renaming the ELF file, you need to make sure its in this format SLUS_123.45

You also need to change the SYSTEM.CNF to reflect the changes. Just use Notepad to edit it. I am still not sure it will boot this way or not.

Do you have no method of launching elf files from memory card or usb drive?

i used the process of extracting the iso and patching it to dvd and then using cd/dvd generator to make bootable ps2 iso

renamed the elf as slus_123.45

i did reflect the system.cnf

i don't know any methods to launch elf or watever it is

p.s."i think the dvd boots but it freezes right after booting"

p.s."maybe i put the region as pal while named the elf as slus?"

Ok, I should have rephrased the question.

Do you have a modchip, or do you use Swap Magic to boot the DVD you created?

my ps2 is modchipped and not to mention it is slim (shiny silver lol)

lol. Do you happen to know which modchip you have?

If its the Matrix, you need to disable the "macrovision' in your configuration settings to be able to work with USBAdvance.

Is there any reason why you can't boot the CD image of USBAdvance?

umm i dunno which modchip i have

in my country ps2's come modchipped and u can buy originals only from the sony showrooms

i bought it b4 a week and forgot to ask the seller which modchip it has

heya this time i remade the iso as dvd making the region as ntsc

i didn't burned it on dvd b/c i don't want to waste any more

however i donwloaded a pcsx2 with ntsc bios and checked it and it worked

should i burn it on dvd-r as well or will it not work?

If it works in the pcsx2 emulator, it should work on PS2.

You can try it if you like. If it doesn't work, then just burn the CD image onto CD-R and it should work.

hehe it didn't work another dvd-r to the bin

oh oh did i mention i burned the dvd in ntsc mode?

i just saw my ps2 box and it is written PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL

Well your modchip should play CD-R fine, so just burn the bin image to CD-R and you should be fine.
