Need help with PS1 Anti-Mod Games

Hi All,

I have a question about Spyro 3, (I have the original and backup) I have read it is an anti-mod game... the PS2 version I have is version 7 SCPH 39001 with a Modbo 4.0 installed by me. The chip is able to boot anti-mod PS1 games on versions 9-16 I have read, this means that my version is not included.

I also have read that patching the game will allow older consoles to boot it without the anti-mod checks. I was able to find a patch on consolecopyworld under psx then s then sp; it says protection fix on the description, is this referring to the anti-mod protections?

Unfortunately I am not able to test any disks because I ripped the ribbon connector off of the dvd ribbon assemble, (I forgot that the top could be removed :/ ) replacement should be here soon though.
