I have just installed a psx stealth 2 mod chip in my ntsc-u 75001 ps1.

here is the chip link
http://www.mod-chip.bz/catalog/stealth-modchip-p-44.html

here is the diagram with my solder points they told me to use
http://www.mod-chip.bz/Playstation/images/ST2750xonline.jpg

i have soldered in all my points and put it back together. but when i put in an original copy it does not boot. it goes to the cd player and the disc stops spinning. then when i put in a back up it does the same exact thing.

i have tried using a different lens but that does not help. i have checked all my solder points and they seem to be fine. before i installed the chip it would play just fine.

what is wrong?

thanks

Sounds like a faulty chip. You could try for a chip exchange and be a little more careful with your next install (or just have a pro do it). Regardless of if you screwed up the install or not, the chip is gonna have to come out. Hope you're good with the iron, uninstalls are a lot more tricky than installs. In the info on the site you posted, it doesn't say anything about playing backups. So I'm not sure how it's 'supposed' to react to your backup. Seems like it's just a region-free chip to me. I'm not all that familiar with PSX modding as my old grey PSX played backups from any region (all the ones I tried) with nothing more than a q-tip holding the lid sensor. As far as how its reacting to you're retail disc, that can't be normal, so I highly doubt there is a simple fix.

BTW: I can't help but get the feeling you're just trollin. As far as I know all PSX consoles have a model number with four digits (1000-900X). When you state that you're PS1 model number is 75001 (known PS2 slim model), it kinda makes me scratch my head. You didn't by chance try to chip your PS2 slim, with a PSX chip, did you?

-google is my friend, would you like an introduction?
