Alright, here's what happened - I agreed to upgrade a friends' xbox HD. It turns out that he backed up everything and FORGOT eeprom. I didn't find this out until i unlocked and browsed original HD. And from what i know about softmodding...without the eeprom u cannot upgrade. But now the problem...i can't even lock the original HD without the eeprom; i get error code 6

is there anyway around this? thankz

no.. nothing you can do except chip the box or build/buy an eeprom reader.

Might be cheaper to buy another xbox.. softmod that and then lock the big hdd to the new one.

Found a solution. swapped motherboards and HD's with a non-working xbox, luckily i had a spare xbox.

I have the Unleash X dash on my xbox. I unlocked it from the system menu.
