Well all my hard work has just gone down the drain, I had managed to softmod my lads xbox and even put on DVD2xbox and all was working well.
I then decided to upgrade the HDD to a larger one, I must have done something wrong because while using xboxhdm I managed to 'fry' the hard drive. Xboxhdm wont even recognise it and when I turn it on it goes to the multi language error message screen.
So is there anything I can do? I used xboxhdm to build a new HDD but the xbox doesn't recognise it at all.
Then placed the HDD into the Xbox but no joy, just checked again and its giving me an error code of 5 (which is HDD not locked) so gonna have to do more searching :(
As to the hard drive, xboxhdm is a bugger, i've used it enough times to find it's very finicky and very frustratting. But stick with it and it gets the job done. I always find it's the timing of hooking up the hard drive that causes problems, but as i say, persevere and you'll get it sorted...
Plus check the jumper on the back of the hard drive, i can't remember what it should be (for xboxhdm use) as i haven't swapped a drive a for ages.
Well spent the best of the morning trying to get this sorted.
1. Old Xbox HDD is buggered, windows wont load while its connected. Wanted to fix it with Western Digital Tools.
2. Put the 'New' 80GB HDD back onto the computer so I could lock it and XBOXHDM can't find the password. I found the evo file and it said my password was 'xbox' but that wouldn't play.
3. I booted up the XBOXHDM disc and fitted the HDD before I press 1, I had the CDROM set to 'master' and HDD set to 'Slave' but am now thinking this isn't right.
