I am about to softmod my 2 xbox's and make them in to media centers.
I was going to use the hotswap method as i dont have any of the bits needed to do it any other way. One box is a 1.6 and the other is a 1.4. Now I know i cant do the 1.6 tsop as it aint there, but can some one tell me if I can take the tsop out of the xbox and flash it with my willem, and if so what files do i need. I have done so much reading the past 2 days I'm more confused than ever.
From what I read I'm guessing I can just flash the Xcuter bios on but I need confirmation.
Thanks Jay....

Don't flash the tsop, it's retarded and pointless. Too many things can go wrong and softmoding is a much easier solution.

Avalaunch 1.4 Cheater
Avalaunch 1.6 Cheater

Just replace your files with these and it will boot avalaunch. Make sure you back up your files before you replace them.

Ok heres an update managed to find config magic on slayers disc and i worked yipee.... One prob solved. Now I was goin to install the xbmc and evox and apps but I noticed the warning sayin it would destroy my soft mod so what can i do now with regards to makin it perminant so the kids cant kill it? I will be putting a larger hdd in soon to, but was wondering what the flash bios/ tsop option in the slayers disc was about. Can any one shed some light on this? I'll check back tommorow its nearly 3.00 in the mornin here.

Thanks Jay....

Well i have a quick solution for you. Install avalaunch if you haven't already and then edit the avalaunch.xml file. In there you will find something called quickstart.

I have my xbox setup so if you hold the A button while avalaunch is loading it will load xbmc. Here's the script for that.

<quickstart>

<!-- To enable launching of the last launched XBE when you hold the left trigger while booting Avalaunch,
set this setting to 1. Otherwise, set it to 0. -->
<enablelastrun>
1
</enablelastrun>
<righttrigger enabled="0">
<path>
</path>
<filename>
</filename>
</righttrigger>
<abutton enabled="1">
<path>
e:/apps/xbmc
</path>
<filename>
default.xbe
</filename>
