I have tried DVD decrypter with Anydvd running in the background and it will not backup. Anydvd just keeps scanning the dvd and never, never stops. I have also shut down Anydvd and used the current version of DvdFab and it also just keeps scanning the dvd and never stops until I stop it. Any suggestions? The dvd is good because it will play with Power DVD on my computer.

Anydvd just keeps scanning the dvd and never, never stops. I think your not using the most currect version of Anydvd (6.8.8.0)
I have that version and it does scan the dvd but then it shows 6 different versions of the movie with angles (not sure what angles means)
Not sure which version or file to backup

Did you not ask this before what angles meant,i answered it
Rip the whole dvd to disk, install dvdshrink then run it, select the VIDEO folder created by fab (you may get warning more than one title let it run all) select the first title angle, use shrink to cut front & end frames & remove any extra audio & sub streams you don't need
see my sig for guides section on using dvd shrink,it has pictures, you can also set shrink to burn with nero or imgburn when finished
edit: or select title 1 with fab & shrink & burn with that

LOL! The Blu-Ray was easier than the dvd. I find that hilarious.
I used Dvd fab(clonedvd is probably similar) and blanked the bogus titles in custom mode.
Since an image is worth a thousand words, here you go. It doesn't get any easier than this. I would have done the blanking in rebuilder, but it wasn't working out for some reason.
The backup appears to run perfectly, with no compression. In the future, a good way to know the proper title, is to run the raw dvd through a player of your choice, that lists which title is currently playing. I posted an example here:
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

This doesn't apply here However sometimes the extra titles apart from being different camera angles can also be part two of the movie if both parts are put on the same disc

Hey guys - I'm running DVDDecrypter on this right now and it's balked at one of the vob files but has continued to run. My newest version of DVDFab, which is 8 qt is just hanging; trying to read the source....
I wanted to try the solution above but if it won't read the source....
I guess I'm a little confused.
Will Decrypter get through this on it's own, kicking out the nasty vobs?
Help please/ THX!!

Decrypter is old indeed! Only anydvd or DvdFab(I hear that DvdFab infringes Anydvd's code) can get through that one. As far as I know anyway. I always rip with anydvd to hard drive, and if any blanking needs done, I use either Dvd Rebuilder, DvdFab, or PGCedit. But I've never used PGCedit successfully. Haven't found the time. It's one of the more advanced ways of doing it :)

For some reason my DVDFab is hanging. Really don't want to pay for an app....
If I uninstall then reinstall Fab would that help?

serial? crack? I don't think you guys can talk about those things in here,LOL.
Ok this is what I did: I did rip the whole movie to hard drive with Anydvd (latest version from 16 hours ago) and then I used Dvd Shrink to compressed and burned it with Image Burn.
I usually run Anydvd in the background and compress and burn with Clone DVD2 but this time Clone DVD2 gave me an error message at 99% from finish compressing, which did save me from waist a blank dvd, I guess this movie has a nasty encryption.
Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Backed Up Cars2 Perfectly... Here's How
I had all the problems everyone has mentioned with this DVD.
Eventually I stumbled on the right click menu on the AnyDVD tray icon (the fox head.
One of the options is "rip video DVD to Hard Disk".
I clicked that option, selected a folder to rip to, and a little ripping window opened and ripped it perfectly. It created the full DVD around 5Gb which played perfectly from the hard drive.
Next, you can either burn it onto a Dual Layer DVD9 disc, or use DVD shrink then burn it to an ordinary DVD.
This worked first time after spending all night trying to use combinations of AnyDVD, Shrink, and DVD Decrypter.
Hope it works for you.
(The main movie is in Title 12 of the DVD (VTS_12)
