i have a pantech slate with AT&T , i have pay per use internet and unlimited text messages. i have a 17.00 charge on my bill that is called data transfer and they are measured in KB,i can call the phone people but i am hopeing someone will explain this to me in terms i can understand. please help

Well, pretty much anytime you accidentally click on your media button it receives a bit of data and other features on phones can use a little here and there.

I suggest if you only use text and have no plans on sending video or pictures through text then you should call AT&T and have them put a Data block on your line. This will still allows calls and text to go through but not one slither or data to charge you money. They block data upon request without charge.
