Hello to all afterdawn members,
I just dont wish to be rude but what purpose is this thread for anyway ??? Someone's saying that its meant to keep the posts made by those who want unlock codes for their W580s in one place...Does that make any sense???,do you people realize the hope that these members have who post on this thread ??? Its really hard to unlock a CID53 W580 freely considering the present situation,I really know that...Where XS++ and SETool2Lite fails there's only one hope called as the JDFlasher combined with the ANYCID method...But even with that,only if you have the SIM of the service provider which your phone is actually locked to,then only will you be able to unlock it !!! In a drastic situation like this,when one sees a thread like this he will think that there's actually a hope...They will just try to get an unlock code if possible hoping that it will unlock their mobile...
But if you're just wasting your own time and these members' time with a seemingly meaningless thread like this,then there's really no sense to this...I mean what does "Unlock Code for Sony Ericsson W580i (***NO EMAIL ADDRESSES***)" actually mean ??? Does it mean "post here those who have messed up their W580s by locking it up so that we can waste time" or "post here those who have a locked W580 here with your phone's info so that we can provide you a solution,email IDs are not required" ???
I know that forums.afterdawn really is a great forum with so many solutions spreading all through the internet,so why just waste your reputation with a meaningless thread like this ??? Just close it if you cant provide a solution or else the thread will be filled with so many unanswered posts infinitely...
Finally I beg your pardon if I sounded rude,as I really didn't wish to make you guys angry but was sad seeing that there are so many people like me around the world...I'm sorry again 'cause my post is also much BIGGER than I expected !!!

The thread is here (and open) as it keeps people who keep coming here asking for w580i unlock codes in one place and not loose around the forums.
I have no idea if there is such a code, what i do know is that people will continue to post here (with their email addresses) even if we tell them there's no code.

With the w580i, it all depends if the phone is "SP" locked. If the phone is SP locked you are SOL. If the phone is not "SP" locked but "network" locked there is a code available to unlock it.
The reason people are posting here is because they want the code for free. However this thread is pretty much dead as no one seems to be replying with any unlock codes.
The Forum operator should shut this thread down, but for a very good reason (unknown to me) is not doing so. Or someone should put a stick note on the forum indicating that NO FREE CODES ARE AVAILABLE.
Anyways, the bottom line is this: If you want the UNLOCK code, confirm that your phone is not "SP" locked and PURCHASE an unlock code from EBAY or another provider. With all honesty, I successfully unlocked my W580i that was on ROGERS wireless. I got the code from ebay for $5. The phone was only network locked. The only thing is it has the original provider branding, but I dont really care. I just want the phone to work.
Another method is to download software/firmware loaders and unbrand your phone. Once you unbrand your phone, you automatically unlock it. This is risky because you could potentially "brick" your phone. However there are tonnes of resources on the internet. Best of luck.
