After using Pandora battery & MMstick (stuck in 3.80 M33), I can't seem to downgrade or uprade or wipe my own but at this time. I have a PSP1001 & just want to change my OFW or CFW so that I have more game options to play from my memory stick (ISO/CSO). I'm sure I am missing a simple step to do this but my patience & eye sight are starting to get limited from reading all these forums. Please do not reply to this if you're gonna comment that "search is my friend" because I've done that alot.

So are you stuck in 3.80 m33 (which is cfw), or are you running an ofw?

So the entire folder & update go directly into PSP/GAME folder? I'll give it a shot.

Takes me to the menu fine, but when I hit X to install, I get a message "ms0:/550.PBP no found on root of your ms" I've tried to put that 550 file in different folders over & over & still the same message. I appreciate your patience. Thanks

The update (550.pbp) file must go into the root of your memory stick. "root" means: not in any folder; just place the file alongside all the other folders when you open your memstick in explorer.

Now it goes through a sequence of installs and gets hung up @ "now install all modules from UPDATER..." shuts down after a few minutes & I can't turn it back on unless I pull the battery out.

Not neccessarily. Try to upgrade to 5.00 M33 with this:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1570
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1568
Then update to 5.00 M33-6
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1646
And finally add the Prometheus-3 update:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1987 (it says Prometheus-4 in the title there, but that's just a mistake, there's only Prometheus-4 for 5.50 and 5.03 GEN).
Everything should work for you now.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Went through the steps of installing & running the the above links, then when I get to Prometheus, I keep getting error message "this program requires 5.00 M33-6 sorry" but tried to run that program several times.

So, you are on 5.00 M33-6? Or are you still on 5.00 M33?

OK, I feel like an ass, I had bought some cheap battery for the PSP a while back because I turned my original battery to Pandora & realized that was where my main problem was so I took my original battery that I pandorized & reversed it back to it's normal state, installed 5.5 gen d3 & guess what??? She works again (you get what you pay for). Now when I put ISO/CSO files into the game folder, the PSP says there are no games. Do I have to upgrade/downgrade again?

You're supposed to put disc images (isos) into the ISO folder. The ISO folder should be created and placed in the root of your memory stick automatically when you format it in a cfw.

X360 - Jasper revision: modded
PS3 fat model w/250gb upgrade
Wii: soft modded w/320gb backup
PSP 2004: 5.50 gen-C prom
PSPgo : 6.37ofw w/27 converted isos
3DS w/SSF4, waiting on the edge of my seat for ocarina 3D and Res. Evil: Mercenaries 3D
