I haven't touched my PSP in a very long while and I haven't been keeping up with what's going on. Now that I want to use my PSP again I feel lost and I have no idea where to start.

I currently have a an older PSP with CFW 3.90 M33-3. I've lost my Pandora battery and memory card.

Can someone point me in the right direction to get my PSP to the latest CFW?

Thanks.

Just update.
Pointing: www.psp-hacks.com

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

The thing is there's so many different CFW and versions that I feel a little overwhelmed.

Which one would be the best to upgrade to?

Actually ALL cfw's need some form of patching for the latest games.

There are only two choices 5.50GenD3
or
5.00m33-6

I prefer the later as it is more stable for homebrew and playing ps1 games also the memory card speed up means that nearly all games can be played at full speed as a cso (saving loads of memory card space), you just need to ensure the games you have are patched for your prefered firmware.

Similar situation here. I have a psp1001 that I haven't touched in years. Last game I played was GOW. I'm not even sure what cfw I have and forgot how to check. From the system setting screen it shows 3.40 OE-A.

Would my upgrade path be the same, meaning going with either 5.50GenD3 or 5.00m33-6. And what's the deal with patching. Thanks. Will do some reading up, but do appreciate a few pointers in the right direction.
