Haven't messed with the psp in a while, want to update it to newest firmware for a game my daughter wants to play but dont want to lose my nintendo :)

I want to update it to 6.60pro b9 but am getting frustrated at all the shit information out there, anyone know if i can do without pandora/magic? I have both but would rather drop eboot onto stick and click away.
I think 6.60 is the newest, you guys know better than me, if that isnt it let me know. thanks
First of all, 6.60 PRO-B9 is non-permanent, only for those unhackable PSP 2k, 3k and GO. On your 1k I would rather use 6.60 ME 1.4 (latest):
