It's been a long time since I updated the CFW. When I check the system info screen it just says 5.5 Prometheus

What steps do I need to take to get the latest and greatest CFW?

what PSP model do you have

if you have a PSP 1000 upgrade it to prometheus-4
if you have a PSP 2000 under TA88v3 use 6.37 MEv5(Permanent)
if you have a PSP 2000 with TA88v3 or newer use 6.35 PRO-B3 (Non permanent)

to install any of these CFW follow this guide to install
