I didn't bother flashing back to stock when it happened to me, cos the only part of the update that was missing was the avatar bit.
And as for dumping the key, I already explained that, lol. If you already have the key, why would you ever need to dump it again? You don't. In future, to flash your 360 you just need to do this: -
1. Select the Erase option in the Lizard's menu and erase the drive
2. Write the new firmware to the drive (OFW or CFW)
Hi mate,
Well thanks to you I got it flashed to LT 2.0.
I really appreciate your help!
I have backed up dead island which is fine but I noticed that a couple of games such as COD black ops and assassins creed brotherhood no longer work?
Last question....when backing up a XGD3 game...is this what you do?
Imgburn In Write - set layer break to CALCULATE OPTIMAL
Set the layer break to 2133520 in the .dvd file (DO I DO THIS BY RIGHT CLICKING ON THE .DVD FILE AND OPENING IN NOTE PAD AND CHANGING THE LAYER BREAK AND SAVE IT???)
The burn and click through the warnings
Is this it?
Its the changing the layer break bit that confused me.

cant help you with backing up xgd3 , but about games not working think you need to make image from the disc and run them through abgx (think they need repatching)

Cheers mate.
Can I just check....as you gathered I was confused about whole drive key thing.
When I have to reflash, and I use the extracted key I got yesterday, which file in the folder is it?
Is all I have to do is load it and then create the CFW and save to a new folder?

Reflashing in future is dead easy. What you do is this: -
1. Fire up the Lizard Toolbox software. Go to the CFW Generator tab. What you do next depends on if you've downloaded the proper Lizard firmware packs, or if you've just downloaded the general firmware pack: -
a) Lizard firmware pack - If you've downloaded this, then on the CFW Generator tab just choose Easy View, click on the Load FW button (top right) and select source_dummy.bin from your firmware backup. Now where it says "CFW Fileset Template:" select either LT+ or Original Files, depending on whether you're flashing to the latest LT+ or back to stock. Then click CFW Save As... and save the firmware file somewhere.
b) General firmware pack - If you've downloaded this, go to Advanced View on the CFW Generator tab. Click Load FW (the upper button) and select your source_dummy.bin backup. Then click Load FW (the lower button) and choose the specific firmware file from the firmware pack. Click the "Copy data from Source to Destination" button, then click CFW Save As... and save the firmware file.
2. Connect up the Lizard to your drive and choose the erase option from the menu and erase your drive.
3. Choose the write firmware option and write the new firmware.
Job done.

That happens because those games are protected by AP2.5 and when you updated the dashboard, that changes the AP2.5 data. You have to rip the discs to ISOs on your computer (use ImgBurn in read mode), run them through abgx360 which will create .dvd files for you and patch the ISOs with the latest AP2.5 data, then reburn them as normal.

Download the latest version of ImgBurn that was released a day or two ago and make sure .dvd files are associated with it. Then, to burn a game you double-click the .dvd file which will fire up ImgBurn, insert your blank and set the write speed, hit the burn button, and when it asks what you want to do, choose the "Write to end of disc (Truncate)" option and you will no longer get a bunch of errors that you need to click through. It'll just burn and that's that.
No problem! I'm glad it all worked out for you! It's really not that difficult either, is it? It's just getting used to all the terminology and stuff that's the hard part.

It seems it now...but at the time it was crazy as I was sh*t scared of messing up!
