Back in 2007 my brother gave me his modded 360 (he didn't like the NHL game he bought it for)
Anyways, I started DLing games from Bit Torrents, figured out how to patch the waves with 360 Wave Patch and have been good ever since. Since I dont go on Live, I just would patch Wave 2 on all the games I DLed and play, without being nervous about the Bill Gates police online. (I honestly don't even know what WAVE means.)
I just downloaded Fifa 12, but read in the torrent that you can not patch a wave 13 game, (which Fifa is). Now, would the thinking be that all new games going to be like this?
Even though I work as a computer programmer, I have no idea how to mod the 360, since I never bothered reading prior since its been fine for over 4 years. (I got the impression that you basically just flash the BIOS on the DVD Rom drive, I could be wrong). Now the advice, is it necessary going forward with future games, in your thinking, to re-flash my 360?
Again I work on computers for a living, so I could handle flashing a BIOS, but so many people on this site seem to make a big deal about it.

Ok. cool. So basically I have to update the firmware on the DVD Rom in the 360 if I want to play newer games.
Never took a 360 apart b4, but guessing its just a SATA connection and will plug it into my internal SATA on my mother board.
I got the vibe i think. Basically bring the firmware back to the factory, then update it to the newest one out there.
