Hey guys, it's been a while and I'd like to know about any major changes that have taken place in the world of Xbox modding.
My Xbox is flashed to LT +3.0 but I can't play XGD3 games because the only guy who sells X360 games in my city doesn't use an iHas burner. Is there any other way I can play games? Like loading them on my Hard drive, etc.? He says that he can JTAG my Xbox but that after the JTAG I won't be able to play to play games from discs, only from my hard drive. What should I do?
EDIT: When I inserted Assassin's Creed: Revelations into my Xbox, I got an 'Unsupported Disc' error (which is due to the fact that the shop guy hasn't burned it correctly) but when I inserted Max Payne 3 (which is also XGD3), it worked fine (I was able to play the first mission correctly and then I stopped playing).
Why is it that some wrongly burned XGD3 games work fine while other wrongly burned XGD3 games give the 'Unsupported Disc' error?
I bet he didn't patch topology data to assassin's creed and the copy of Max Paine he got was already patched. You do know that you don't need an iHas burner anymore? Just check out the burnermaxx payload tool.
Oh, and about the JTAG thing, I wouldn't let that guy touch my box, first of all it's not a JTAG, it's an RGH (JTAG can only be done on old dashboards) and second the thing about not being able to play games off discs anymore is pure bullshit. This guy seems to be a total idiot who doesn't know anything about what he's doing.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
Even if the Max Payne copy was already patched, he would have to burn it using iHas right? Can you tell me what error message one would expect if he burnt an XGD3 game using a non-iHas drive after patching the image?
I think I missed the info about the payload tool. I did what it says:
1. Inserted a blank disc into my DVD drive
2. Ran the BurnerMAX Payload Tool
3. Chose the DVD drive I inserted my blank disc into
4. Clicked the BurnerMAX button
And here's what I got:
Quote:DVD DL +R detected
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !
Scanning: J:\ [HL-DT-STDVDRAM GH22NS40 NL00]
Scanning failed!
Will try matching for known write only drives..
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !
Just curious: Does there have to be a blank dual layer disc in the DVD drive when we verify it using the Payload tool or does the Payload tool work even if there's no disc in the DVD drive? Also, do I need to buy a new drive now?
EDIT:
I'm sorry, I realised that I was doing it wrong so I had another go:
1. Insert a blank disc into my DVD drive
2. Run IMGBURN: Mode ---> Write
3. Chose the DVD drive I inserted my blank disc into
4. Opened the BurnerMAX Payload Software
5. Clicked the BurnerMAX button
Here's what I got:
Quote:DVD DL +R detected
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !

Just check the list again, the LG GH22NS40 is incompatible with the payload tool.
If the guy you bought the game from truncated, you still might be able to play the game, if it's relatively old and if it's patched. I personally have a truncated copy of Saints Row 3, that I still use on my offline console.

Oh Sorry, my bad. I thought it was in the list of compatible drives. Do you think I should wait a while or buy a new drive? I figure that the parameters I have to consider when buying a new drive are different as opposed to the same a few months
back? Let me know what the new requirements that need to be fulfilled are.
Is there a way to find out which Xgd3 game will work when truncated?
