Can't save Brotherhood backup to hard drive?

For some reason, after making a back up of ACB on a verbatim dvd+r dl made in singapore, I can't save the game to my hdd. I can play it just fine. Any ideas why? Should I just calibrate my pot? It stops at like 95% with a dirty disk error.

BTW - I'm running a 2007 Xbox 360 with a Hitachi 79

Edit: I just checked, and it stops at 97%. I also checked the disk against the iso in imgburn.
