I have been trying to get my backup working for Need for Speed. When I boot the game its asks me to update the dashboard.

What I have done
=================================
I updated the drivekey firmware.
The dashboard version is 2.0.12416.0

Do I still need to update the dash further? I have the update file $SystemUpdate9199
But I dont know if I should apply it ?

Can anybody advise ?

Thanks

I think the latest is 12625, but I'm not near an xbox to find out. 9199 is old, and is pre kinect so there's no need to even try to update because it's older than your current dash and wouldn't work. Are you playing on a JTAG? If not, jump on live and update that way as long as you have LT+ on your DVD Drive. If it's still not working, you probably need to run your NFS image through abgx and make sure to set it to level 3 so it patches the necessary files in order to run on the new dash. NFS is an AP 2.5 title and requires the patch (additional challenges were added via an xbox live update to the game). If you get a black screen, that means you don't have game patched properly.

As long as your DVD drive is flashed to LT+ 1.1, you can jump on live and update your console. Then try playing NFS. If it asks you to update, it "should" be safe.
