Definition of "drive not being recognised by JF"

Hooked Hit 79 to VIA card with drivers removed and using Port IO blah blah...

Drive appears in top left of Hit tab and in main body so it is. recognisedGet drive into mode B so it is recognisedUnable to play audio unlock CD so it is not recognised

Also tried Win API or whatever it's called with drivers installed and the drive isrecognisedeverywhere including the drop down list in the right hand corner of the Hit tab. Makes no difference to outcome as mode B achieved as per tut but Failed to play audio unlock CD

Just like someone to explain recognisedin the above circumstances.
