I sent my xbox in for flashing, and when it came back, it was flashed, but i think the laser was messed with, and now i keep getting an open tray error.

also, my cd drive wont open unless there already is a disk in there. otherwise, it just jams.

so is there any way to fix either of these problems permenantly? that is, if i get someone to repair my xbox, will the problem go away forever?

are your games not scratched burn a new 1 and try that are you can try a pot twweek open your drive up and at the back of the laser theres 2 brass screws turn the left 1 a tiny bit to the left are take it back to the bloke that flashed ive had the sdame problem years ago and all my disks were scratched a dont look after them and the pot tweek trick has worked twice watched it on youtube 12 year old kid explained it worked srait away best to take it back to the bloke and try a new game

This is usually a belt issue. Pull the belt, boil some water in the microwave for two minutes. Put the belt in the water for about 10 minutes. Pull the belt and dry. This will shrink the belt fixing the tray issue. You should also clean the drive while you have it a part with some rubbing Alc.

As for the open tray issue, what drive do you have? Make sure the laser is in the proper position. Some of the liteons get wore, and the laser sits in the back. If this is a liteon, were traces cut? I've seen the solder on the cuts, come loose causing loss of power the the laser.

To test if the laser is getting power, connect the open drive to your computer and power on your xtractor. If the laser moves and flashes red, then the power is fine. If that proves to be good, get a multi-Meter and adjust the pot on the laser and then test a game. If that still doesn't work, then you need to replace the laser or drive.

now my xbox will read a copy of my legit morrowind game, but wont read any burned games. it was working fine yesterday, and now it suddenly just stopped. i just got my xbox flashed like 4 days ago too

any idea on what is wrong>
