I tried to dump the 1071 firmware, before the dash update (i just bought the console) and it failed

This is the order i went...

hooked up drive to xtractor--> showed up under dvdkey in jungleflasher--> clicked slimkey--> clicked no to unlock--> yes to power cycle-->power cycled--> then it wouldnt get any further (i did power cycled numerous times)

What I did see on the guide was that it said this method for the 1071 was for dash 13599, but I didn't want to update before getting the key in case something would prevent dumping the key after the update.

Should I update my console first to the latest dash? Or any idea what's wrong?

Thanks!

****EDIT****
I am assuming I should get this once I have my key read? Liteon DG-16D4S - Unlocked Replacement PCB. I would assume its the easiest way so I dont have to drill into my pcb board?

Thanks for any help!

yes the replacement board is the easiest way to go, as far as getting your key looks like you did everything in the right order, are you using a usbpro to read the key? it is said that most chipsets are having issues with reading the drives properly.

No, I am not. I have an Xtractor that I always have used in the past for the non-xbox 360 slims. I am using the vt6421 card and I tried my onboard sata (both of which previously worked on older drives, but no luck reading it.

Do you think the usbpro will work? Is that the route to go? Where would you suggest getting one? I saw it on xconsoles?

Do you think I maybe need to update my drive via the latest dash update? I didn't want to do that initially in case I had to grab my key before the update.

Thanks!

I ended up buying a replacement board and x360usb pro from xconsoles

I will try this out when I get it next week and post an update if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the help

i think that will get you going, i ordered from xconsoles and got mine in about 3 days, if you read the jf tutorial it says "we did this using usbpro because most chipsets are having issues extracting key information" as far as the update nothing is going to change as far as getting your key.
