Hello,
My son has an American Xbox360, he is basically able to play most European region games (PAL), I just purchased a German Kinect along with a couple of games for it, Star Wars being one of them. I have been reading all over the place that a few games will not play on an American console, this is the case of Star Wars. Since the game is already open, we cannot return it. Would anyone have a solution for this problem? I tried burning the game onto a DVD+R DL, but it tells me my DVD is copy protected.
Thank you in advance for your help.

you cannot just copy a game and have it play, your system must be modified to run
backups. and if you go online with the system, you run the risk of being banned from
xbox live. with some games you would need a special burner with special firmware in order to burn them.
Thank you for your reply xbox09 :)
I read somewhere that I would need to get ImgBurn, and then burn the game onto a double layer DVD, it is all I have tried but didn?t work. I was looking for specific things to do such as what program I would need to buy in order to burn this and future DVDs. I do not want to mess around with the system itself, just the game.
What do people do when they want to burn their games as backups?
Thanks again :)
Tigrita
even if you were able to burn the game it would still be region locked and will not work on the console, if you are planning to stay in germany you way want to consider buying a machine from there or order your games from the US

You may also consider taking the game to Game Stop. They will give you some amount of store credit. You will not get 100% of your money back but at least it's not a complete loss. Before you purchase a PAL (German) game try looking at play asia . com. at their compatablility list. The site lists what region game will play on all cosoles.

Seriously? I wouldn't bring any game to that store for money, they give you only half the money of what you can get at ebay for the game. Here in Germany they sometimes have a 9.99 promotion, meaning you bring in two games from their trade-in list and get a newly released game for 9.99 Euros. I sometimes get me some of the cheaper games of their trade-in list off ebay and trade them in, sometimes that's a good deal. Other than that I wouldn't cash games in there. At the moment they give you 35 Euro for Resident Evil 6 or Fifa 13.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
I will take it as a learning experience, next time I will do more research before buying other games. He never had a problem playing German games in his American Xbox, but I guess there are exceptions and this, unfortunately, was one of them.
