i was told if i get the chip in my slim drilled and unlocked i never have to get it flashed agane just use live updates and its still flashed ??????????????

Drilled and unlocked? Do you want to drill holes into it? If you want a console you'll never (supposedly!) have to flash again, get an xkey or an x360dock. Supposedly because there is a possibility of Microsoft blocking it with a future update.

dock is crap. Xkey still needs updated but just easier to do. Drilling is just for unlocking guys. You still need to flash the FW like before. It is no different and you still require updates.

you can update the system with a usb, it is impossible to update the firmware of the drive by any other method than opening the box and flashing it, unless of course if you spit your sata connection and ran a line out the back, then you could flash without opening, but it would be tricky. bottom line, if you have to update the flash of the drive you will be opening the case.
