I recently updated my FAT hitachi with LT 2.0. Go myself a LiteOn IHAS324, applied the custome firmware to it, and successfully burned my first backup. RockSmith.
Since then, none have worked. I tried a few PAL ones i found on some newsgroups, Need For Speed The Run, Ass Creed, and Batman. All 3 were PAL, but for some reason i thought they would play. Of course they wouldn't because mine is a region 1 console. I got the error message when the game would try and load. This is the case, right? They wont work on my console, and there is nothing I am doing wrong?
Second, i tried a region 1, Air Assault. No go. Unrecognized disc. The Burn worked fine, so i assume the image was bad. Using good Verbatim's as my disc of choice.
So, the second question is, there is nothing out there i should be running these images through before burning them, is there? I have already been banned, so that I dont care about, i just play the games by myself.
Been out of the scene for a while, because back in the 1.51 days, i flashed this drive, and it worked for years before XGD3 came out.
Thanks...Ron

You say your 360 is banned, so presumably you haven't tried connected to Live in a long time. If so, that means it can't be related to the silent DAE.bin updates, so we can rule that out.
Which Hitachi model do you have? If it's a 78/79, then LT+ 2.0b was released to fix a bug with 8.7 GB XGD3 backups, so it could be related to that.
Also, it could be bad burns. Have you tried scanning any of the burns with KProbe? If you haven't used KProbe before, have a look at part 7 of this tutorial: -

There is no current software to run XGD3 images through to check them unfortunately, but it would be quite a coincidence if every ISO you'd burned was corrupt/bad in some way so I don't think it's that.

Havent tried connecting in a long long time.
Its a Hitachi 47. So, according to c4eva, to get it to work, you have to use a liteon with the custom firmware, which i did. 2 work so far. RockSmith NTSC and GearOfWar3 All Region. The rest do not. funksould, i will look at kProbe, and give it a whirl, it wont hurt. I am also going to try to find some images that I know are NTSC, XGD3. The PAL ones i can see why they wont work, that was dumb of me to try them in the first place. LT 2.0+, that is not a region free firmware, is it?

No, the iso needs to be region free if you want to boot a PAL region game in your console, i am pretty sure the only way to boot region free all the time is to either JTAG your box or do the Reset Glitch Hack (RGH), not 100% but pretty certain.

If your box is an NTSC box, you can only play NTSC games or region free, not PAL. What region is your console?

I'm being pedantic, but that's not actually the case. For instance, there are games that will play in PAL and NTSC-U regions, but not NTSC-J, so they're neither NTSC nor region free.
