I purchased a GDR3120L 78FK to replace a 47DJ, of which I have the OFW. But when looking at the 1.51 or LT+ firmware, and checking the original key -- the original comes up with DVD Key @ 4F00. The CFW for the 78 only shows selections for 4B00, 4C30, 4D20 and 4E10. How do I match it up?

From what I understand, they do not have to. I can never get them to match either when I do swaps for the samsungs and BenQs. I don't know about liteons or Hitachis, I can only assume that it wouldn't matter for them either.

Okay, I used the 4B00, with the Slax 2.1 CD at boot. Saw the drive in Hitachi tab. Sent Mode B. All good. Dumped the drive, then loaded the OFW, then LT+, spoofed -- shows 78 as 47 then flash LT + with JF 178. I verified mode B with the double press for Drive tray. But now it's saying play DVD. I know that I've done these Hitachis before. But always forget what works!! :)

I"ve restored to original with the Key from the 47, but it's original 78 as hardware. Don't know what's going to happen, but I'll try it again!

After restoring to original, from the 47 key, and loading the ofw for the 78, it still says play DVD. I think I cannot resore original FW with the original key being from a 47 and the hardware being a 78. Maybe swap out the board could be my only hope?? (Obi Wan Kenobi...)

I forget for manual spoof, do I still load the OFW and CFW in the firmware 32 tab?

Then go back to the hitachi tab and do a manual. I think I used winapi as well. And cannot remember if I used that last time I did a Hitachi with success.

I was able to get it done with the manual spoof. With this video jogging my memory:
