This is my first post and it may sound similar to a post already on the site (i.e. Requirements for re-flashing to lt+), but I think it?s justifiable to post anyway.
I have a 74850C Lite-On drive currently flashed with LT v1.1 and would like to upgrade to LT+. Where this post is different from others is that I have the files from the original dump I performed using Jungleflasher (JF) when the drive went from stock to iXtreme 1.61 (files include dummy.bin, dummy_fixed.bin, identify.bin, inquiry.bin, key.bin, and lite_CFW.bin). I also have the dummy.bin files from every previous time I updated the FW. (i.e. iXtreme 1.61 --> LT 1.1)
My questions are:
1. I?ve read the JF v1.76 tutorial and it says that I ?will no longer be able to use 74850C?or ?Dummy-from-iXtreme? methods to retrieve dummy.bin? and that the MRA hack may need to be used. I don?t really feel like having to cut the traces, but since I already have the dummy.bin files what should the process be?
2. What information is contained in the Key.bin file? Is this the **_OFW.bin file like from previous methods of flashing (i.e. iprep, etc.)?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you have the key already, load it as source, LT+ as target, spoof source to target and write.

Sounds easy enough. You mean use the key.bin file as the source right?

Thanks, I actually figured that out when I got the error message when trying to use the key.bin file. I actually ended up using a dummy_fix.bin file since I didn't have the serial.bin file and had to recreate it from the stickers on the drive itself.
Thanks for all the help.

I'm in the same situation, although im not sure them dummy.bin I have is from the same drive so it's a risk right? How can I tell if the key in that dummy.bin is the same as my drive?
Also using half-open doesn't let me read from the drive so how can I erase and write to it anyway?
(I'm not going to be cutting/soldering anything I'd just break it)
To recap: I've got 74850c on LT1.1 and want to play NFS:HP and AC:B, Already updated to new dash, already banned so don't care about online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're definitely at risk if you're not sure that the dummy.bin file is the one that matches your drive. In order to read the drive, you would need to cut/solder as that is the only way to read the drive to make a new dummy.bin file that you know is the right one. With the 74850c, you used to be able to probe to get the key info, but once you flash the drive to LT, you can no longer probe the r707 point to get the key. The drive now acts like the 9 series lite-on. That's the reason you have to cut and solder to get the info. I just ordered a litekey cause I'm in the same situation. I still have to cut and solder, but it makes the process a little easier.

Thanks, found the key from jf.log so I know it's the right one.
Plugged the drive in, showed up in JF, clicked liteon erase am power cycled with the ck3 pro. Got 0xFF, and drive no longer showing up, tried into amd power cycle a few times, no luck. Tried to power it with the 360, started getting "drive returned status 0x7F". Went back to using the ck3 and still getting 0x7F, tried intro and erase again loadsa times power cycling in between each attempt.
Any ideas?

This would be my first post n im new :-)
I am writing about the flashing of a (Liteon) 93450 flashed with LT1.1 and upgrading it to LT+ and all of the problems i have had and the method that worked for me.
If you have not got a VIA6421a, A liteon 93450 with LT 1.1, LT Switch 2.0 soldered on your liteon drive, experience with basic dos, experience with the LT Switch n a Spare Samsung ms28 drive?? for some reason stop now. but try without the MS28 n see how ya go
*************So I Have*************
-Soldered the LT Switch v2.0 (the one with 18-20-22 Ohm resistors) in
-Flashed it with Ixtreme LT 1.1 using VIA Card, LT Switch, Jungle Flash.
All worked well n no problems, then ap25 come out so i need to upgrade LT+
******************But i had forget too******************
-Backup the firmware / accidentally deleted it
-save my data in jungleflash
-ect
*************************But i did**********************
-Write the key in pen on the top of the drive just in case
So I though I would use the exact method I used to flash it to upgrade it again
But this didn't work :-(
-Jungle flash would recognize the drive as a Liteon but when i cycled drive, flicked the LT Switch and powered back on it would freeze windows until i turned it off. Couple of times it displayed the flash information but windows still froze, could not do anything.
*I have read all the forums and everyone reckons its the drivers, remove the drivers they say, but that don't work. Tryd it on windows xp/vista/7 as well. still dont work
By the way im using the latest jungleflash 179beta, also tryd dosflash32 and that dont work as well and the drive half open... tryd everything nothing works
****************************************************************************************So this is what i did, but for some reason it needed a Samsung drive ms28 to achieve it*** **********************************************************************************
-found one flashdrive n downloaded ntfsfloppysetup.exe from @ctive.com or something like that to make a bootable flashdrive. you might have a program to make a boot-able flash drive this program seem to work for me.
-Download Dosflash 1.9 and copied dosflash16 folder to flashdrive
-Download Latest ixtreme LT+ Firmware File (LTPlus-934v1.1.bin)
-Download Latest jungleflash 179
-Have via card installed in computer with sata cable, have DVD cover off and access to LT switch. I get my power off my xbox360, if you have power adapter with on/off switch prob use that. If you are powering of xbox, make sure you have the case of the xbox touching the case of your computer so you have no differential earth potential
-Rebooted computer and boot to flashdrive
*** if you have not had much experience with dos stop now ***
-If you have downloaded and used ntfsfloppysetup, when you boot to flash drive choose
(clean) no-cd drivers, option 0, when you get to the blue screen displaying your drives just press escape and enter and you will get a C:\
-At this point don't connect the drive to just test dosflash n see if it works.
So type C:\cd dosfla~1 ENTER C:\Dosfla~1\dosflash ENTER. A whole heap of ports will scroll down with number assigned to them
-Now for some strange reason if you connect the Liteon drive to the VIA and power on and run dosflash, it get half way down the ports list and displays the liteon drive.
Then it all locks up and you are forced to reboot.
-So I shutdown. I connected my MS28 and powered up. And started computer
-The computer halts at one point and says i cannot work out the hardware and i should press (G) to continue then it lets me to the boot choice options
-Get to dosflash folder and open dosflash. It should scroll down the list and find the ms28 and ask you to resend the the command. so turn the drive off and back on, flash information will appear.
-it will ask you do you want to read, write, ect... Just READ it for test purposes, n save the file.. If this works the your via card is working.
-Power off MS28 and plug in Liteon. Make sure the liteon LT switch is in green mode.
You might have to try some of the Resistance 18-20-22. I used 18 but 20 is the norm
-Re enter dosflash and now when the list goes down it should see the liteon, but now it should as if you want to resend command. Press yes, power off drive, Flick switch to RED, power on.
-Dosflash should now display the flash content, flick the switch back to green as soon as this happens..
-Now it will give you the option to read the drive and save the file.. so do that
-When you done reboot to windows open firmware file in jungle flash as source, just check the key n make sure it looks like a key :-) open LT+ firmware as the target and spoof firmware. Save new firmware to flash drive Dosflash16 folder
-Repeat all steps prior so you are in dosflash, where it asked you do you wanna read, write ect. And choose write, the type YOURFILE.bin, it should write to drive and your all done.
This worked for me and i have no idea if this will work for others with same circumstance. Hope This help n This will be my last post. I know its a bit vague, but im off to play some games
