Hi and thank's for this forum.
Please, i am new on this theme and need help with the following.
About 2 years ago I buy a white fat XBox360 with a flashed Hitachi GDR-3120L, ROM Ver 0079FL. Really I don't know what firmware version have this xbox, i only know that I can play my back up copy of COD Modern Walfare 2 without any problem. But now I try to play my back up copy of COD Black Ops and this don't run. I receive the following message:
Update Required
An update must be applied to your console to play this game. If you decline this update, you will not be able to play this game.
Do you want to apply the update now?
Yes, update now
No, don't update
I take the yes option one time to update, but nothing happens, Black Ops don't run.
Do you know what I need to do now?
Thank you for all your help and sorry about my english.

if you updated the xbox and then tried to play the disk, without repatching it with abgx. then your system has failed an AP2.5, and have been flaged for a ban if you go online, since you have a Hitachi drive

Ok Scoobpoo, I believe that understand. Now i will go to search for the abgx on internet. But about the .iso rip file, what software do you recommend for this task.
Thank you
And thank you for the advice Cooll903, about the danger of playing on line, but don't worry i never go online to play. I don't have the skills to compete at that level. I'm only a sunday night player. LOL
Thank you to both of you for the info.

rip your current back up of Black Ops using imgburn, select "write to image" make sure you are using your back up that isn't working and not the original. Then once the iso is created open abgx and use select these settings:
Check/Create .dvd file
Check Stealth
Verify if Stealth passes
Use colors
Check for AnyDVD style game data corruption
Check for updates + Include the CSV
Check Game Partition CRC when needed
Autofix tab: -
Autofix Threshold - Set to level 3 (You don't necessarily want to use this setting if you're ripping your own games though)
All other boxes checked on that tab
Misc tab: -
Your console's region code (You don't need to set this, but you can if you like)
SplitVid - Add it if it doesn't exist or isn't valid
Once you've got the settings set up how you like, go to File - Save Settings... and hit OK, then it'll remember the settings in future.
after that open your iso and click on launch and wait until it finishes. Then open imgburn again and find your iso and next to it should be a .dvd file open that and burn image at 4x and then it will work

simply re-ripping isn't going to fix it. You need to update to the most current FW and reflash your drive.

Ok pals, I follow the instruction and still out of the game. First I rip the .iso file with imgburn, from my backup copy, second patch the .iso file with abgx360, third write the .dvd image file to a dvd+rdL(a memorex dvd+rdl 8x, 8.5gb,240min). All fine, until try to run the cd in the xbox360. I had the follow answer on the tv screen:
The disc is unreadable.
1.Clean the disc with a soft cloth.
2.Restart the console.
I clean the cd, but this cd's are brand new and come in a case. I believe they can't be dirty. Anyway, I come back to my pc and run the Imgburn verify command, to check the cd about read errors and receive the following error message:
W 13:02:32 Failed to Read Sector 1767972 - Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error
Now I'm stuck in front of a wall, without any new ideas. Do you think that my only chance at this point is learning to flash the 360 and reflash my console? Next I include the log files of abgx360 and imgburn. Please, any help that you can give me, will be really appreciated.
Thank's

Your abgx360 log is fine, so it's not the ISO.
The disc failed to verify with an uncorrectable error, and that's probably the cause of it. There is a newer firmware available for your burner, which I recommend you install: -
http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/LH-18A1P/files.html
If the disc still fails to burn and verify 100%, try burning at a different speed as slowest does not always equal best. If that still fails, then try some different blank discs. I would recommend Verbatim discs.
If that still fails, then it's probably time for a new burner as yours is old anyway and hasn't seen a new firmware update for 4 years. It would be a good time to get one of the LiteOn iHAS models that's compatible with Burner Max.

For that drive lt2.0 is not released yet. You can get that game working on 1.91 but will need to reflash the drive when 2.0 is released. You might want to just play other games until 2.0 is out.

Hi, excuse me for joining the conversation, I'm a huge noob at this aswell, and I was just wondering. I think I am in pretty much the same situation as the thread poster. was playing ripped games np, but today I tried to play the new dragonball game. I installed the update without giving it a second thought, and now whenever I insert a cd it says its unreadeable and to please clean it. This happens with both originals and ripped ones.
So if I am understanding the thread correctly my xbox will be banned if I log into live, which isnt a problem I only play offline. You mention that his burner might be the problem. And I was wondering if you know if my burner supports burning or has the necessary firmware available. Im quite sure I have a Atapi ihas124 y ata device. Thats what its called in my manager. But i guess my question is, even though my 360 is now marked for ban. Can I still play new games somehow with using the abgx360 and the right firmware for my dvd burner, or Do I require to do something else with my xbox?
Thx for any help you can shed on the matter. Really I have no idea what im doing here

Hello! Now, Thanks to all of you guys, I'm back to the road. After install the last firmware to my Lite On Burner, 18 Memorex dvd coasters and trying all the dvd writing speeds, finally had a 100% Imgburn write/verify job! But when try the CD on the Xbox360 had the following tv screen message:
Update Required
An update must be applied to your console to play this game. If you decline this update, you will not be able to play this game.
Do you want to apply the update now?
Yes, update now
No, don't update
If I understand all your messages and recommendation, now I still need to reflash the Xbox360, is time for the hard work. Is Xbox360 reflashing time. I read in different post about the Jungle Flasher v0.1.87 software, and know that I need to learn how to reflash with this software. Now I will go to google to find this software and a good tutorial to follow. But please, can you tell me where I can find the 1.91 firmware for my Xbox360, Hitachi GDR-3120L, ROM Ver. 0079FL, if the lt2.0 is not released yet? Another question, I want to follow your recommendations about to change my dvd burner by other newer. I want to buy a Lite On IHas 524 model, but read something about A or B versions, do you know what it this. Do I need to be concern about what version is the Lite on that I will go to buy. What is the better version for the mod job. Or if you have recommendation about other dvd burner brands, your opinion are more than welcome.
Next I include the 100% write/verify log of Imgburn for your verify.
