i had a modded PS2 for years and i never had any problems with it (only played offline), but because of the firmware updates etc. making the modding of the xbox360 quite frustrating i havent even thought about it. but now as my xbox360 (jasper model MFR: 2009-01-10) is getting quite old and recognizes game DVDs when it wants to, i was beginning to wonder
1) if i could make it an offline modded singleplayer console. in other words if i buy a new slim model for only legit games that i play online on my gamertag, can i use a memory card to 100% SAFELY move that same gamertag over to my modded offline console wich will never be connected to the internet, play some singleplayer games, and move the gamertag back to my slim online console to update my gamerscore without ANY RISK of getting my gamertag or the slim console banned? does the console have to be online to inform microsoft of ie. bad data on a DVD or can it store this kind of information on my gamertag and later upload it to microsoft on a different console with internet and cause a ban?
2) is there a way to transfer the game ISO files from PC to xbox and play straight from the HD without even burning the DVD to prevent RRoD and to actually get the console to recognize them as xbox games unlike the DVDs that work every now and then. (dont wanna buy a new optical drive for an old piece of crap)
3) if my console does totally break down can i just like solder off the mod-chop (i really wouldnt want to go with modules im that cheap!) and put it in a new cheap preowned console? im guessing the new console would have to be the same jasper model right? or does it even have to be more specific like the same motherboard or something? ofcourse this also depends on what mod i would be using im guessing.
i would really like to get back into the world of modding but have basically no knowledge how to do it on the xbox360. i will go throught all of the tutorials etc. as soon as I could just get a confirmation that this can be even done SAFELY the way I described (or any other way u guys might find easier or more logical…)

I would probably loose the chip and mod the drive. I don't know a whole lot about the chips, but I can imagine them causing a problem as the new updates to the dash are applied and the new topology to the games. Sounds to me like your drive is going bad anyway, if you get a new drive for it, you will have to install a firmware with your dvd keys anyway.
Putting the games on the hard drive and not using the cdrom at all will require a major hack to your motherboard. I have done one and can tell you, it requires a lot of soldering, besides the fact of your motherboard being to new for the JTag.
I do believe you will be flagged if your xbox picks up anything not lagite with your games, and you manage to copy you profile, that is if the copy works. Chances are, you will end up with a corrupt user profile during copy.

I've done this for years.

Of course it has to be online to inform Microsoft of any "flags". The console stores flags even if you are not online, and then alerts Microsoft once you do go online.

Research "Reset Glitch Exploit (RGE)" or "Reset Glitch Hack (RGH)"

There is no modchip. The DVD drive's firmware is flashed. Research "Jungle Flasher".

Doesn't matter (except for some Slims)
